This entire breakdown is very out of character for Big Ang. i usually sit here and talk about each fighter and then explain why most of these fights are close than the odds. But this card seems pretty spot on so far. I know people don't love Waldo and are surprised to see he is almost a 2-1 favorite, but the reality is, he should be. He is faster, he has plenty of movement to avoid the big strikes, he has plenty of cardio and we just saw that he can offensively wrestle. Ryan is very dangerous but his last win was his first win in 3 years and it was against a 40 year old. Waldo is the pick and thats not just because we are both in the movie “The Burden of 9 Lives”.
Waldo Cortes-Acosta
Waldo Cortes-Acosta is a fun athletic striker who is tough as nails with real power. He does get flashy and at times has decided to dance mid fight. He lands an impressive almost 6 significant strikes per minute and has showed us on numerous occasions how physically tough he is. Like in his last fight where he survived an early barrage and had to activate Nurmagomedov mode.
Ryan Spann
Ryan Spann is a 6'5 powerhouse with an incredible 81″reach. He's very dangerous with 19 stoppages in his 22 wins but he's not all power, he also wrestles and averages more than 1 takedown per fight with 13 of his stoppage wins being submissions. Ryan Spann is incredibly dangerous and has the cardio to be a threat the entire 15 minutes. He is coming of the bounce back win over OSP where he landed clean and then choked him out when he shot a slopped takedown.
