It really would be difficult to find as much low priced value on DraftKings as we did on the London card. It just might be possible however. This is another card where I believe that they have severely mispriced a few fighters, and when you couple that with a few serious knockout threats in the 8k range, we have options!
This week’s core has some high price tags involved, especially in lineups that include Blaydes for the pivot. So there might not be a whole lot of wiggle room from a salary perspective. I believe that I said this in the core article, but I will repeat it again, if I end up needing more salary, my intention is to move down from Manon Fiorot as her price tag is high and she probably won’t get a finish.

ASKAR ASKAROV – $9100
I have been hearing plenty of people talking about the value of Askarov's opponent, Kai Kara France, at only $7100. I don’t completely disagree, France has plenty of power and the knockout upside for tournaments there is something to consider. Unfortunately that is really his only path to victory over Askarov, so it's less a value play in my opinion and more of a punt.
Askarov is talented in every single area that this fight can take place. He is a great striker, an amazing wrestler if he chooses to do so, and very impressive on the ground as well with his Jiu Jitsu. I don’t really expect him to get a finish here, which for this price tag is a bit sketchy, but I do expect him to put up plenty of points in a heavily one-sided fight.

VIACHESLAV BORSHCHEV – $8700
Slava Claus is back! After a super impressive debut knockout and a follow up performance against Dakota Bush, he is jumping back into the octagon with Marc Diakiese. Diakiese is receiving a decent amount of love in this spot as he is generally not the dog, so many cappers are picking him to win this fight. His wrestling is good enough for that to be a valid opinion beyond the math as well.
For me however, I am on the Slava Claus fan train. His striking is very impressive, and exciting to match. Here are the facts, Borshchev was taken down twice in both of his previous fights, and both of those fights ended in knockouts. He will almost certainly be taken down in this fight as well but just like his previous contests I like him to get back to his feet, or survive until the next round to get started on his feet – and ultimately get another great knockout win. Not exactly confident enough for him to make a cash lineup, but the exposure in tournaments will be heavy because his path to victory comes with 100+ points.

BATGEREL DANAA – $8500
Speaking of guys who’s path to victory is a knockout. Danaa is a knockout artist, a connoisseur of violence, and the last face many see before the lights go out. This is a big score waiting to happen if he does in fact get the win. Unfortunately his opponent is pretty tough too. Chris Gutierrez has a solid strike differential with impressive striking defense and one hell of a chin. In fact, Gutierrez has not lost by knockout in the UFC.
The opponent here worries me a little bit, but Danaa is very different in the striking department. He has fight-ending power in both of his hands, amazing striking differential with serious activity, and the only time he has lost was in a fight where he was neutralized on the ground with multiple takedowns throughout the fight. Again, not really an option for me in cash games, but for tournaments I will happily take the guy that won his last three fights with first round knockouts.

DAVID DVORAK – $8400 / MATHEUS NICOLAU – $7800
This is a fight that I just want exposure to. I really have no idea who wins here, although my gut is telling me Dvorak, I do recognize that Nicolau is probably the more complete fighter. In terms of pure striking the edge surely has to go to Dvorak, but anywhere else this fight goes and Nicolau takes that edge in my opinion.
I think that is probably the consensus with everyone else as well as I see a ton of people on the Nicolau side here. It makes total sense honestly, more paths to victory, and a cheaper price tag should mean a no brainer. There is just one thing I can’t get over to be sure which direction I want to take.
That one thing is that Dvorak hasn’t lost a fight in something crazy like ten years or so. There is something unmeasurable about a guy that just knows how to win. For that reason I want exposure on both sides of this one. I will probably go with Nicolau in cash contests, and Dvorak in tournaments. With as many people as I have seen on the Nicolau side, the leverage you would get having Dvorak in a win would be helpful.

LUIS SALDANA – $8300
This fight isn’t one that I am particularly excited about, however I think this fight is lined far too close. In my opinion Saldana runs away with this fight. He is the more active fighter and has a significantly better strike differential. In fact his only loss in the UFC so far is a decision loss that was INCREDIBLY close.
On the flip side, his opponent Bruno Souza only has one UFC fight and that was a decisive loss where he was out struck almost two to one. I really don’t understand why this fight is as close as it is from a betting perspective – but I am not a capper – so maybe I am just missing something.
Regardless, for me, this is going to be a clear cut Saldana play and a fade on Souza. Saldana has a solid floor in my opinion for cash games because even in a loss I expect three rounds of active scoring – and has knockout upside in tournaments which would produce a big score at only $8300.

UNDER $8000
ALEKSEI OLEINIK – $7600
This is a tough one, because Oleinik is not a guy that I generally want deciding my fate. He is very much a one dimensional fighter, albeit that one thing he happens to be one of the best ever at. Thankfully however, he is fighting Ilir Latifi, who is firmly on my list of fighters that I will never roster no matter what. Latifi could be fighting a random Grandma and I would probably fade him because I question his ability to hurt her.
Latifi’s lay and pray method of fighting will be a dangerous one for him in this fight because being on the ground with Oleinik is exactly where he wants you to be, and I am expecting him to get caught by a submission at some point during the course of this fight. This is a riskier play however, because it is also very possible that both guys score almost nothing – or Latifi enjoys a cardio finish from wearing out Oleinik at his old age with all of that laying on top of him.
TOURNAMENT ONLY
MAX GRIFFIN – $7400
For me this fight is one of the scarier predictions that will be on my DraftKings lineups. Everyone it seems is on Neil Magny – and honestly I generally love Magny as well. If I had to pick one area where I think Magny is deficient however, it would be physicality and I think Griffin has that in droves.
With the salary as high as it is on Magny, I believe that playing him would just end in a score on the lower end of the spectrum even in a win. Playing Griffin in tournaments not only gives me a big score upside on $7400, but also probably some leverage as Magny was one of the most heavily favored fighters on Tapology.
TOURNAMENT ONLY
KAI KARA FRANCE – $7100
This is just a punt play here. I do not believe that France will win this fight. I do believe that IF (notice the big IF) he wins it would be by knockout however, so at $7100 for a fighter that could get a knockout. It could be worth a roll of the dice.
