Both these guys are very tough and will take a beating while continuing to pressure forward. I think Romero is the better wrester with Timmy likely being the better striking. I know how insanely tough Timmy is, but I love what I saw out of Romero on short notice and can only image that a full camp will have him looking fantastic. We don't have odds yet, but Romero is the pick and if he is somehow an underdog, you'll be getting a push notification on the app about the bet I placed.
Timmy Cuamba
Timothy Cuamba is a striker with good takedown defense, fast hands and decent power for his weight class. He does a great job working the body with an early investment hoping for a late payoff. He's very technical and not gunshy but I wouldn't categorize him as a killer. He has some takedowns but they don't feel comfortable and he really only looks to wrestle if he is in trouble. He is tough as nails and we saw that in his loss against Lucas Almeida where he was dropped and almost finished a few times, but still managed to gut it out.
Roberto Romero
Roberto Romero is a forward pressure grappler who closes distance, gets you to the cage and then works takedowns. On top he looks for control more than he looks for a finish. He is very tough and an absolute gamer. His striking isn't the most technical but he has power and pressure. He is coming off the short notice loss to David Onama where he came out guns blazing with zero hesitation or fear and dropped him early.
