The rise and fall in MMA is crazy. it wasn't just a few years ago that Sodiq was a solid 13-2 prospect with a hilarious social media presence where he would break down fight with top notch commentary. now he's on a 2 fight skid being fed to a younger more evolved version of himself. Sodiq is still a very good fighter who can hang with most. He struggled with Diego because Diego came right at him 100 miles per hour. Thats not how Mairon fights. Mairon takes his time and works methodically. If Mairon lets Sodiq settle in, then Sodiq wins this fight, but if gets right after he can control the pace. I am going to pick Sodiq here. I think Mairon is good, but not sure he is quite at this level yet.
Sodiq Yusuff
Sodiq Yusiff is a fantastic striker with decent power, incredible speed and wide variety of attacks. He is 7-3 in the UFC and has out everyone except Diego Lopes. He has solid takedown defense at 62% and a solid enough get up game that he won't be ridden out on bottom. He is coming off the quick KO loss to Diego Lopes at UFC 300.
Mairon Santos
Mairon Santos is a big powerful striker with solid takedown defense and plenty of patience. He isn't low volume per say, but he definitely plots forward and picks his shots. He has power in both his hands and feet and does a great job defending takedowns with an incredibly wide base. If he doesn't find a stoppage, he will keep his composure and continue with the gameplan. He is coming off the decision win over Francis Marshall where he won the striking exchanges but did give up a few takedowns.
