Robert Whittaker may be one of the most liked fighters in UFC history. I like him so much I tried to name our Australian Labradoodle “Knuckles” but I was vetoed. I think everyone on this planet will be rooting Whittaker. Unfortunately, I don't see him winning and I have Khamzat as leg 2 of my “I hope this misses” parlay. We watched Dricus take Whittaker down and Khamzat will do more of the same very early. It is important to note that this is a 5 round co-main event and if Bobby Knuckles is able to survive early he can absolutely take over later. Shit, if Usman had 2 extra rounds he would've won that fight. I don't think Bobby can survive though and think Khamzat wins by finish in the first or second.
Robert Whittaker
Robert Whittaker is the former middleweight champion of the world. He is a very diverse striker with solid volume and very good takedowns. He is constantly mixing up his striking and movement patterns. He will lay out really heavy leg kicks and then immediately charge forward and chase the head. His only losses since 2014 are to Izzy and current champion Dricus. He has 12 takedowns in his last 7 fights to cement himself as one of the most well rounded guys in the UFC. He is coming off the 1st round KO win over a short notice Ikram Aliskerov
Khamzat Chimaev
Khamzat Chimaev is a polarizing guy that people talk about as if he is not human. We hear about his work ethic, his wrestling and his ability to dominate fights wherever they go. In execution, we have seen the wrestling and we have seen the one punch power, but we have also seen him struggle a bit with random health scares and cardio. The reality is that it seems as though Khamzat can take anyone down whenever he wants to and is seemingly impossible to take down. He is willing to strike, but isn't the most technical. He is coming off the decision win over Kamaru Usman last year where he dominated ealry and fully gassed.
