Bryan also had a bit of a grapple heavy gameplan in his last fight, but wasn't able to get the takedowns because of Kevin's high level Judo. I actually think Bryan should come into this fight looking to strike even though Randy is such a good striker. Bryan has big power and Randy has been dropped by powerful strikers like JDM, Khaos Williams and Vicente Luque. If Bryan can keep this ugly, stay busy, and tuck his chin, i think he wins this fight. But if comes in with sloppy takedowns attempts, I think Randy can pick him apart. Bryan is the pick, I have never picked a Bryan Battle fight wrong but don't think I can touch these 3-1 odds.
Randy Brown
Randy Brown is a very good striker who uses his range really well. He's stupid tall for this weight class and takes advantage of that. He uses long jabs and kicks to keep you at bay and then when he's ready he will use his speed to initiate solid boxing exchanges. He has 9 takedowns in the UFC and while he doesn't go to them often, he has nice trips with solid jiu-jitsu on the mat. He's very good and a lot of fun to watch. He is coming off the decision win over Elizeu Zaleski where he was taken down 4 times but dominated the striking.
Bryan Battle
Bryan Battle is a dog fight kind of fighter. He is constantly pressuring and constantly working towards something. He has shown us that he has a solid ground game and is never out of a fight. He averages around 1 takedown per fight but has a miserable 28% takedown accuracy. He is improving at an incredible pace. Every single fight he physically looks different and his skills are more polished. He is coming off the incredible win over Kevin Jousett where despite getting the second round KO, he was hit more than any of his previous fights.
