We get 12 fights for this fight night card headline by Kape and Almabayev for a title contender eliminator. This card is actually really nice for DFS as you get some heavy wrestlers mixed in with some KO specialists (i.e. Left hand 2 God Barlow) which always makes for fun builds. Hopefully we make it through the week with nobody pulling out, but for now lets go ahead and get down to business.
For anyone who hasn’t read this article before, this series will be released every week on Wednesday and will cover the slate by isolating the fighters that I like within the various salary groups. CHEPE MARISCAL
He is undefeated in the UFC, won 5 fights in a row, and is averaging 109 points per fight in the UFC. He has 3 decision wins where we scored 138, 85 and 108. He averages over a takedown per round in the UFC, lands 4.75 significant strikes per minute, and is fighting someone who is seemingly a worse version of himself who doesn’t have the output on the feet.
ESTEBAN RIBOVICS
This kid put on a show last time out at the Sphere against Zellhuber, and averages over 7.5 significant strikes per minute. He will also mix in shooting takedowns which keeps his opponents on their heels. Haqparast is solid but Ribovics has so many ways to finish him here.
$8,000 – $8,900 PRICE POINT
DANNY SILVA
Almeida has some power, but Silva is just one of those guys who looks like he can handle his business on the feet or taking Almerida to the mat who only has a 50% takedown defense while Danny averages a takedown per round. He also averages 8.3 significant strikes per minute so the output on the feet is very high. Give me El Puma here to grind out a W.
RAMAZAN TEMIROV
This is kind of a tough pick, but I am not a huge fan of the 8K range to begin with. He looked super impressive in his win over Vergara, but at the end of the day it was CJ Vergara and he ended up getting 3 knockdowns before Vergara folded in the first round so it skews his score a bit. This is a very tough fight, and I would no be surprised if come Friday on the Slueth we are on the opposite side here depending on ownership.
Under $8,000 PRICE POINT
HYDER AMIL
Amil is a KO specialist with b2b knockouts in his first two UFC fights, and comes in averaging over double Gomis’ output on the feet with 6.3 significant strikes per minute. He also will shoot for takedowns averaging just over 3 per 15 minutes and will look for submissions on the ground also. Gomis is probably the more polished fighter, but I love an underdog with big DK scoring upside.
ASU ALMABAYEV
He is going to be the most popular dog this week because of how cheap he is. He does not have high output on the feet averaging only 2.11 significant strikes per minute, but he averages 5 taekdowns per fight and will look to submit Kape. Kape has good TDD at 77% but if we can get 5 rounds of Asu shooting takedowns we could see a slate breaking score if he gets a win with a bunch of takedowns and control time,.
