This fight night in Seattle went from an awesome dfs card to now currently having 10 fights with half a dozen fights being cancelled or fighters getting new opponents. This makes it very tough for DFS as the fighter pool being shortened means we have very consolidated ownership. You have to get all winners or hope your underdogs perform the best in a loss if the 10 favorites end up winning. There are a few very fun fights to target with high scoring upside, so let’s get down to it.
For anyone who hasn’t read this article before, this series will be released every week on Wednesday and will cover the slate by isolating the fighters that I like within the various salary groups. NURSULTON RUZIBOEV
This fight is short notice for both guys, but we are siding with the guy who has more experience, a 5 inch height and 2 inch reach advantage who can win on the feet. McConico will try to get into the mat, but the size difference should make it tough and he may not even be able to do much if he succeeds in wrestling Ruziboev down.
ANTHONY HERNANDEZ
He has arguably the best gas tank in the division, just absolutely mauled Michel Pereira in their main event where he damn near took his soul. Allen will have to try and stuff takedown after takedown, and with his chain wrestling wearing Allen out I would expect yet another finish here for Fluffy.
$8,000 – $8,900 PRICE POINT
ALONZO MENIFIELD
This range is tough bc of the shortened amount of fights, so we are picking the guy who has brutal KO power and can end the fight at any moment. As long as he doesn’t charge head first into a dumb situation again, look for the heavy hands to land a bomb.
IBO ASLAN
His gas tank is an issue, but we have seen Ion get caught and KO’d which is what Aslan will be looking to do. This fight should be a lot of fun, and I don’t think there’s a chance it goes the distance unless Ion wrestles and lays on him.
Under $8,000 PRICE POINT
HENRY CEJUDO
He arguably beat Aljo in his comeback fight, and then ran into the Merab buzzsaw. I think he gets back to his wrestling style and drags Song to the mat every chance he can and makes a statement that he isn’t going anywhere.
RICKY SIMON
Bashirat is good, but when it comes to DFS I will always side with someone who is going to push the pace and wrestle. Simon averages around 5 takedowns per fight and that is his path to victory here.
