Price Point Picks: UFC London

UFC London

We are sitting at 13 fights again which is great for DFS. UFC Fight Night in London, so early start time for us in the states and we get a title contender eliminator in Sean Brady vs Leon Edwards as the 5 round main event, and the co-main is almost a contender eliminator but it should be for whoever will fight Jiri before the Ankalev and Pereira rematch. As you would expect, a lot of English fighters on the card, and this time the UFC isn’t making everyone fight at 3am local time. It will be a fun card, and hopefully we get a lot of finishes like we did last week.

For anyone who hasn’t read this article before, this series will be released every week on Wednesday and will cover the slate by isolating the fighters that I like within the various salary groups. Please be aware that these plays are subject to change as the week goes on. $9,000+ PRICE POINT

CHRISTIAN LEROY DUNCAN

He is coming off a loss against RoboCop, but is being fed a guy making his debut to right the ship. Hopefully he worked on his grappling defense after his last fight and gets back to his winning ways with a TKO like he has 3 times in the UFC and scores 105+

CARLOS ULBERG

He is the up and coming “young gun” at 34, haha, but Jan is 42, has won one fight in 3 years against chinny Rakic and has not competed in 18 months. The ceiling for Ulberg is 125+, and he is fighting for potentially a contender eliminator fight against Jiri next.

$8,000 – $8,900 PRICE POINT

MORGAN CHARRIERE

He mixes in multiple takedowns per fight along with his striking which has resulted in 2 knockout wins along with having 4 takedowns in his 3 ufc fights. Wood is a solid opponent but the guys he’s beaten have looked dreadful of late.

SEAN BRADY

I fully expect Brady to grapple the entire 25 minutes looking for a finish. Leon has the advantage on the feet here, but Brady is an elite grappler who still has higher output on the feet. He averages over a takedown per round and I expect him to drag Leon to the mat much like belal did in their fight.

Under $8,000 PRICE POINT

CHRIS PADILLA

Padilla being the underdog is surprising here, as he has better output on the feet and averages a takedown per round. He is coming off a nice KO win last time out, and look for him to control this fight no matter where it goes whether it’s on the feet or grappling.

KEVIN HOLLAND

Holland has looked bad his last few fights, however he’s had some bad luck also. The rib issue against Dolidze caused that fight to end early, but Kevin has a 9 inch reach advantage, averages almost 3 more significant strikes per minute than Nelson, he just will have to be careful to not be taken down and controlled all fight.
