We are heading down under for UFC 312 in Sydney as our next PPV of 2025, and we will have two title fights on the main card. We have 13 fights on the card which is much better than the 11 we ended with last week, however we have a ton of guys making their official debuts. Six of the twenty-six fighters are making their debut, with another 4 fighters who have fought twice or less in the UFC. There are a ton of no-name fighters, some fighters people love to hate, and a lot of underdogs who look like they have a live shot to win. It should make for a very exciting DFS card.
For anyone who hasn’t read this article before, this series will be released every week on Wednesday and will cover the slate by isolating the fighters that I like within the various salary groups. Please be aware that these plays are subject to change as the week goes on. $9,000+ PRICE POINT
QUILLAN SALKILLD
Highest priced fighter on the card making his UFC debut. The guy is a takedown machine averaging 9 takedowns per 15 minutes, 5.4 sig strikes per minute, and Jubli does not look to have been matched up with someone who will push this pace with wrestling before. Quillan also will have a 6 inch reach advantage
WANG CONG
So she shit the bed last time out with an embarrassing submission after getting knocked down as a monster favorite. She throws almost 2x the amount of sig strikes per minute as Brasil, has 71% sig strike defense and should be able to get a knockdown and finish.
$8,000 – $8,900 PRICE POINT
DRICUS DU PLESSIS
DDP is a gold mine for DFS. He averages 110 per fight, has won 10 fights in a row, lands over 6 significant strikes per minute with a takedown per round, scored 119 in the first fight with Strickland and I would expect him to impose his will this time around not let Strickland jab and Teep him to death to let the decision be close.
TATIANA SUAREZ
This is the other fight I feel like you have to have for DFS purposes. Both women wrestle and put up big scores. Tatiana has 100% takedown defense while Weili has 50%, and Suarez averages 2 takedowns per round. If she can make that happen over 25 minutes that is 50 points just in takedowns with no other stats. She has averaged 113 points over her UFC career and has never lost a professional fight.
Under $8,000 PRICE POINT
TOM NOLAN
This is one of the closer lined fights on both betting and DK salaries, so I am going to side with the guy who averages almost 7 significant strikes per minute and has rebounded nicely from a debut loss with 2 wins in a row coming in. Borschev has only beaten the worst of his UFC opponents, so I expect Nolan to get it done in front of the home crowd.
JUSTIN TAFA
This is an upside pick. When Tafa wins, he wins by knockout and scores 100+. Texeira does not look like he will wrestle, which is what can keep Tafa from doing his thing on the feet. He is giving up a ton of size and reach, but I think unless Texeira has improved greatly from a not very good DWCS debut, Tafa will knock him out and pay off the cheap salary.
