I don't know why Carnelossi had a 2 year layoff. You look at her body and assume USADA, but thats not the case and in fact, she is one of the most tested fighters in history. Without question Piera Rodriguez is the better fighter. She has better striking, better grappling and if the fight IQ was there, she would be worthy of her -180 price tag. Ariane is essentially all braun but as we know, that can be enough to win fights. I do think the layoff, inactivity and Piera's ability to bomb away and then work in takedowns will be too much for Carnelossi. Rodriguez is the pick and maybe we get a reasonable line on the over. Carnelossi has a ton of finishes, but I don't see that happening here.

PIERA RODRIGUEZ

Piera Rodriguez is a nasty striker with very real finishing ability. She plots forward and lets her hands fly. She knows what's she's doing, but she does wing punches from her hips and puts everything into them. She has pretty good takedown defense at 66% and is defensively sound on the ground. She has plenty of takedown offense as well with 12 takedowns in 4 fights, her issue however is control on top. She is coming off the loss to Gillian Robertson where she shot a takedown which exposed some IQ issues.

ARIANE CARNELOSSI

Ariane Carnelossi is very aggressive, very strong an willing to be in a fire fight. She has very good takedown defense and very nice ground and pound if she ends up on top. I say “ends up on top” because she's not a wrestler but she is strong enough and gritty enough to get takedowns if she needs to. She is coming off the decision loss to Loopy Godinez and a 2 year layoff.
