I actually like Aljamain sterling and even supported him by buying his Funk Harbor rum. But even though I am a fan, it doesn't mean I am delusional. Aljamain gets smoked here. He won't be able to out grapple a much larger and much better wrestler in Movsar and his striking won't keep up either. Unfortunately for Aljo this is probably the worst matchup for him at this weightclass and before you tell me that Aljo trains with Merab, I promise you, Aljo has not magically absorbed Merab's wrestling abilities through osmosis, he gets dog walked on the ground. I have Movsar parlayed and I'll give you the other half of that parlay when we get there.
Movsar Evloev
Movsar Evloev is a decision machine. He is a fantastic wrestler who uses his striking really well to setup his takedowns. He keeps his punches long and manages range well. Then he lowers his level shoots the legs and shucks the head with that extended right hand. The adjustments and setups differentiate his wrestling from a lot of others in the division and is why he has 38 takedowns in 8 UFC fights. He is coming off the one sided win over Arnold Allen where there were some controversial knees.
Aljamain Sterling
Aljaimain Sterling is a backpack grappler who will push for takedowns and stick to you like an extra layer of skin. Over time he devloped his own striking style where he uses kicks really well to manage range. He lands almost 5 signifigant strikes per minute and only absorbs about 2 because he does such a good job with his footwork and range control. He is coming off the dominent grappling win over Calvin Kattar in his featherweight debut.
