If you're still mad at Mike Malott for quitting at the first sign of adversity, i get it. We should all take a 30 second break to scream obscenities about Mike into the sky. Then lets reset, look at this matchup and realize we are probably getting a quitters discount here. Mike should be better everywhere except a straight jab. He should be faster, stronger and the better wrestler. Malott is going to be the pick, but i have Vietnam style flashbacks of his being smoked with 30 seconds seconds left, so its hard for me to pull the trigger on a bet.
Mike Malott
Mike Mallot is a pretty well rounded guy. He has a very lose striking style which allows him to box and kickbox comfortably. He is technically sound and manages range well. He doesn't have any specific background so you can expect him to strike as well as grapple and wrestle. He has 5 fights under the UFC banner with 2 knockdowns, a KO and 3 submissions wins. Most recently he lost to Niel Magny in a fight he was dominating but quit with 30 seconds left as soon as things got tough.
Trevin Giles
Trevin Giles is a very athletic guy with a great jab. He is pretty light on his feet and does a nice job of working in and out of range. He will throw a combination and then step back out of range and reset. Regardless of what the stats say, his wrestling offense is not very good but he does have solid takedown defense at 71% because of his athleticism. He sets a nice pace and pumps his jab well. He is coming off the KO loss to Carlos Prates where he didn't do much but was throwing solid before eventually getting smoked.
