It was just 18 months ago that Michael Johnson was one the wrong end of a very bad, career ending knockout. But here we are, breaking down a 38 year old Michael Johnson who is coming off a win and with confidence, saying he wins this fight as well. Johnson is the better fighter everywhere outside of raw power. Even though he is old, he should be able to control the striking, potentially get the takedowns and ultimately win this fight. Ottman's cardio is God awful and outside of a 1 punch KO, I don't see him winning. With that being said, Johnson absolutely be KOd, so be careful with your money.
Michael Johnson
Michael Johnson is a tried and tru vet who has had an incredibly tough competition slate. It's easy to look at his 19 losses and assume he isn't very good but if you actually look, his losses are to people like Beniel Dariush, Nate Diaz, Khabib and Justin Gathje. Skill wise he is pretty good everywhere, he is a talented striker who doesn't have a ton of power but does have nice footwork. He has a positive striking differential and the occasional takedown. His takedown defense is an impressive 81% and all of these stats are even more impressive when you factor in his body of work. He is old in human years, even older in fight years, but he did just beat Darrius Flowers back in February.
Ottman Azaitar
Ottman Azaitar is a powerful striker who wants chaos and to throw inside the pocket. If you come forward he plants his feet and fires away. If you don't come forward, he will. He will walk you down with leg kicks and punches looking to set up something big. He has 4 fights in the UFC with 2 wins and 2 losses and has not seen a 2nd round. You would typically want to get him to the ground but he does have very solid takedown defense. He is coming off the first roudn KO loss to Francisco Prado
