You know “I can't believe it's not butter?” well this is “I can't believe they both are still in the UFC”. In their last 10 fights these guys are a combined 3-7 with 6 of those losses by finish. Betting on this fight is insane. Especially because one of these men are -300. Listen, i do think Schnell wins here because I think he is the better fighter, but that bar is pretty low. Thats like saying beans on toast is better than cold hot dog water, neither one is good, but if I have to say one is better than the other, I will go with the one that is an actual food. In this case, the one that is an actual fighter. Matt Schnell is a fighter, Jimmy Flick is not. Schnell should be better everywhere but he has no chin and questionable submission defense. Don't bet on this fight, for the love of god.
Matt Schnell
Matt Schnell is a striker with solid BJJ. He prefers to counter strike and does a good job getting you to follow him so he can plant his feet and fire back with combinations. He doesn't shoot every often and averages fewer than 1 takedown per fight, but his BJJ is solid and he snatches things up in scrambles well. But while he can be slick on the ground he does struggle to get it there with a low 40% takedown accuracy. He is coming off his 3rd loss in a row, this time a ninja choke to Cody Durden.
Jimmy Flick
Jimmy Flick is a grappler who will take risks to get the submission. He has subpar takedowns and averages about 2 per fight but has a low 21% accuracy. His striking is stiff and he has a negative striking differential of 2-5. While he will never win a striking match, he could snatch up wild submissions at any point in the fight. He is coming off the decision loss to Nate Maness.
