When I was breaking down Gamrot vs Hooker i wanted to pick Hooker with every fiber of my being. I event texted Jacob and Josh (the web guy) that I am picking Hooker. I was met with ridicule and ultimately changed my pick to Gamrot. That was a mistake because that fight went exactly as I thought it could. Gamrot would get dropped, have some wrestling success, but not a ton. This fight could be almost identical. Gamrot can have some wrestling success but Klein lands clean a few times and takes over. If this fight was not in Las Vegas I would lean towards Gamrot. But because Vegas hates wrestlers, even if Gamrot gets a few takedowns, they will likely score Klein's striking higher. Klein is going to be the pick here and maybe we find a safety net prop bet like WITD Dec no action or +3.5.
Mateusz Gamrot
Mateusz Gamrot is a nasty wrestler with decent striking and a diverse set of attacks. He doesn't have incredible power on his feet, but he's busy and and pushes a pace. Gamrot can out wrestle pretty much everyone in the division with his relentless pace and non stop takedown attempts. Unfortunately he is very chinny, even though his striking technique is there, his chin is not. He has been dropped in 6 of his 10 UFC fights including unofficially in his most recent loss to Dan Hooker.
Ludovit Klein
Ludovit Klein is a very good striker. He's smooth, fast and accurate. He does a really nice job keeping fights technical and hiding kicks behind his jab. He never throws anything lazy or gets out of position. He has a solid 90% takedown defense and will look to offensively wrestle if he is losing the striking exchanges. He is coming off the -1000 win over Roosevelt Roberts where he was fast and powerful, but not the killer you expected at those odds.
