This has fight of the night potential. Francis looked incredible in his last fight and seems to be evolving, as you would expect any young fighter to do. Mairon is relatively un proven, but also looked incredible in his last fight. 4-1 odds on either side here is wide, if Francis can get the wrestling going, he will look great. Unfortunately, i don't know if he can. Mairon's hands are so fast and clean that he could dot up Francis which in turn would make the wrestling less effective. I am going to pick Mairon here, but not confident enough to touch this straight up, but I might mess with the spread or round line.
Mairon Santos
Mairon Santos is a big powerful striker with solid takedown defense and plenty of patience. He isn't low volume per say, but he definitely plots forward and picks his shots. He has power in both his hands and feet and does a great job defending takedowns with an incredibly wide base. If he doesn't find a stoppage, he will keep his composure and continue with the gameplan. He is coming off the UFC debut win over Kaan Ofli where we saw the power and accuracy.
Francis Marshall
Francis Marshall is a heavy handed grappler who comes forward with power and speed to setup his traditional takedowns and jiu jitsu. He is comfortable striking but almost too comfortable, he will keep his hands low and throw out long jabs and hooks. When he shoots they are well timed and full of energy. He is young in his career and is hit more than he should be, but he does a nice job baiting you into a striking match before shooting blast doubles. He is coming off the close win over Dennis Buzukja where the hands and wrestling looked great.
