You may have seen tweets about this fight being off and Jean Silva stepping in. Those were bullshit. Those are a byproduct of people so desperate for internet attention they will literally tweet nonsense for a couple of impressions. Those people are clowns, and you should ignore them.

If you're seeing this and wondering why there is an inordinate amount of “THANK YOU DAN” comments under this video, let me explain… Jacob and I went to UFC 303. Halfway through the UFC 303 event, we found out that Brian Ortega was out and Dan Ige stepped up on literal hours notice to save the co-main event. While in our seats I tried to star a “Thank you Dan” chant. Jacob made fun of me, trashed Dan Ige because he hates the sports and now “Thank you Dan” has become a thing. Now back to this fight, Lerone Murphy probably wins. He is too clean of a striker and defensively sound enough in the grappling to be ridden out. Lerone's ability to mix in striking and wrestling will likely have Ige guessing as well. So Murphy is the pick, but both of these guys are so tough that an over 2.5 also makes a lot of sense.

Lerone Murphy

Lerone Murpy is a very good striker who moves incredibly well and has a ton of power. He will light up your body then step completely out of the pocket and move away. His footwork is very good and he is dangerous on his feet. His takedown defense is listed as a low 46%, but he does really well scrambling back up. He is coming off the dominant main event win over Edson Barboza

Dan Ige

Dan Ige is a fantastic kickboxer with speed and power. He also has solid BJJ and underrated wrestling. His takedown defense may look low at 58% but he has only fought killers the last couple of years and just defended 10 of Bryce Mitchells takedown attempts. He is a very durable guy and a tough night for anyone. He is coming off the insanely short notice loss to Diego Lopes where he stole the 3rd round.
