This is a young mans game. This is also an active mans game. unfortunately for Kamaru he has 2 strikes against him here. He hasn't fought in 2 years and is creeping up on 40. Kamaru will be the much more accomplished fighter in the cage, but also the slower fighter. Joaquin has shown us that speed kills and I think this is a bad outing for Kamaru. He just went viral a month or so ago while hanging out with Adesanya and henry Cejudo when henry joked that all of them are on a 3 fight skid, unfortunately i think it moves to 4 in this matchup. Buckley has the speed, the power, and the cardio to stay a step ahead the entire time. Buckley is the pick and -270 seems more than fair.
Kamaru Usman
Kamaru Usman as we all know is a top 5 welterweight of all time. He is an accomplished wrestler who has steadily improved his striking. We have seen power like in his KO over Masvidal and he have volume like his Covington fights. He has beaten a who's who of 170lb fighters over the last 5 years but he has also aged out. He has 18 fights in the UFC with 59 takedowns and 6 title defenses. He is coming off the short notice loss to Khamzat at 185lbs where he weathered an early storm to take over late
Joaquin Buckley
Joaquin Buckley is a powerful striker with plenty of movement. He has good forward pressure and cuts angles well. We all know he has power and now we know he carries that power late into fights. He has done well working takedowns into his arsenal and has plenty of cardio. He is coming off the cut TKO win over Colby Covington where he landed 75 strikes to Colby's 37.
