Lerone Murphy was in the Safety Parlay vs Ige, so you can imagine the stress i was feeling when he was dropped. The goos news is that we recovered and well and went on to win that fight. This fight could be somewhat similar where Josh Emmett has early success but Lerone hangs tough and takes over. I think Lerone is the overall better fighter. He's faster, more technical and cleaner. The issue is he is not nearly as dangerous. I am going to pick Murphy for all the reasons I just mentioned, but you're going to need him to stay perfect for 25 minutes if you're on that side too.
Josh Emmett
Josh Emmett is a wrestler with legit power in his hands. He has 12 knockdowns in 14 UFC fights and that includes losses. You'll see he averages almost one takedown per fight but that is a bit deceiving because 8 of his 11 takedowns in the UFC came from one fight so the reality is that Josh Emmett is an accomplished wrestler who doesn't use his wrestling very often because he has great speed and power in his hands. He is coming off the one punch KO over Bryce Mitchell to get back in the winners column.
Lerone Murphy
Lerone Murphy is a very good striker who moves incredibly well and has a ton of power. He will light up your body then step completely out of the pocket and move away. His footwork is very good and he is dangerous on his feet. His takedown defense is listed as a low 48%, but he does really well scrambling back up. He is coming off the scary win over Dan Ige where he was dropped early but stayed composed and took over.
