Jeremy Stephens vs. Mason Jones

STEPHENS VS JONES

Jeremy is always fun to watch and likely got this second chance at the UFC because of his 3-0 record in the BKFC and the fact that he is actually from Des Moines Iowa. Problem is, being from the town thats hosting the event doesn't necessarily mean you're going to win. I expect Jeremy to put on a show and swing for the fences. i also expect him to be takedown down a few times and overall be the slower fighter. Mason is the pick and this has potential for fight of the night.

Jeremy Stephens

Jeremy Stephens is a familiar name to die hard UFC fans but also an odd signing for this card. He was a UFC staple for many years and on the wrong side of the famous “who the fook is that guy?” quote. He had a handful of exciting fights and wins before hitting a 5 fight skid and being cut by the UFC. But the losses didn't stop there, he went to PFL where he was 1-2 and ultimately left for bare knuckle. Skill wise, he is a heavy handed striker with tons of power and experience in the division. He is a pretty well rounded fighter, but never had the skills to compete at the top of the division and spent a majority of his career chasing KOs.

Mason Jones

Similar to Jeremy, Mason Jones was cut by the UFC and is now back for another crack at the big show. Mason is an agressive striker with nice boxing and great takedowns. He has a fantastic 80% takedown defense and if he gets taken down het gets back up and immediately starts working. He also has his own solid takedowns with an average of more than 3 takedowns per fight. He's coming off a 4 fight regional win streak.
