At one point in time Giga was a legitimate prospect. He's a Georgean who strikes but can wrestle if he needs too. But long layoffs and tough losses have take all the hype away. Right now the odds have Onama as a -150 favorite and that feels perfect. i think Onama wins this fight and even though Giga's hype has fizzled, he is still a very good fighter who can have success if he gets going early. Onama is the pick and at these odds, its hard not to bet him.
Giga Chikadze
Giga Chikadze is a very good striker with a solid jab and fantastic kicks. He does an incredible job managing range and uses his kicks to do so. The kicks keep you at distance and then he comes firing in with his hands. He is not a high volume guy landing around 4 significant strikes per minute but he does a nice job of keeping his opponents volume low as well. He is coming off the loss to Arnold Allen where he was a full step behind in the striking exchanges.
David Onama
David Onama is a kickboxer who likes to plot forward and control the pace. Typically he isn't incredibly high volume, but he is effective. He has a very long jab that he is constantly throwing out there. He is busy in the clinch where he throws knees and elbows. He has a low 20% takedown accuracy and a 52% takedown defense but he did just get his first takedown in 2 years in his win over Roberto Romero
