FanDuel Fights To Target For UFC Vegas 79
Tim Means

Let’s take a brief look from a FanDuel DFS perspective at some of the fights we have to look forward to for the Fiziev vs Gamrot slate. With 11 fights slated it is a somewhat small to medium sized slate but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some potentially high scoring opportunities

This week’s Fight Night will be taking place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 23rd. This slate features some potential hidden gems with the return of Bryce Mitchell (who will be taking on Dan “50K” Ige) as well as an always exciting Charles Jourdain. With some fairly notable names tucked away on the prelims such as Mohammed Usman and Andre Fialho, we could see some excitement early on in the night. This has all the potential to be on of those under the radar banger cards.

Below you will see my recommended fights to target on the FanDuel slate for UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs Gamrot. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to tweet @WeWantPicks on Twitter and they will get back to you ASAP.

FIGHT #1 TO TARGET (-275 FDNGTD)

Tim Means ($14) vs. Andre Fialho ($16)

Andre Fialho enters the octagon as an the favored favored, which is an intriguing factor given his known susceptibility. The betting public tends to favor a scenario in which Fialho employs his known striking skills to rapidly subdue Means, potentially neglecting the bout's subtle nuances.

Tim Means is a UFC veteran with almost a decade of experience, has demonstrated incredible resilience and versatility against a slew of strong welterweights, keeping a competitive edge in multiple fights. Means, who is towards the end of his career, is prepared to face one of the most lethal attackers in his category. With both boxers keen to end their respective losing streaks, betting on this uncertain clash appears to be a high-risk gamble, but that is exactly the kind of gamble that can pay off big in DFS.

Means will likely look to counteract Fialho's powerful striking with a diversified method of attack and seek to incorporate takedowns. Fialho, on the other hand, is marked by significant defensive gaps and a dwindling capacity to endure blows, making him a vulnerable target if he does not get an early knockout.

This fight has great potential to be exciting as well as needed for your lineups with Fialho likely to take an aggressive approach from the start, trying to quickly overwhelm Means. If Means can defend the opening onslaught, he may be able to establish dominance as the battle goes. While fully dismissing Fialho's prospects may not be wise, considering his potential to win early, a cautious approach and strategic hedging appear most reasonable in this volatile matchup.

FIGHT #2 TO TARGET (-160 FDNGTD)

Bryan Battle ($17) vs. AJ Fletcher ($13)

I see a clash of intense aggression and contrasting styles in the anticipated matchup between Bryan Battle and AJ Fletcher. Battle is known for his relentless pressure, but he has obvious weaknesses in wrestling, which could benefit Fletcher, who seamlessly blends his tactical wrestling with smart striking.

Despite his diverse skill set, Fletcher has had moments of uncertainty and adaptability issues in previous fights. To win this match, he must establish early dominance through his wrestling skills and avoid Battle's onslaught approach to striking.

This fight could lead to fireworks in the cage with each man displaying distinct aggression and technical prowess. I expect a high octane of output with the potential for a slate breaking score either direction.

FIGHT #3 TO TARGET (-140 FDNGTD)

Jacob Malkoun ($23) vs. Cody Brundage ($8)

With his wrestling ability and powerful, looping punches, Jacob Malkoun is set to face Cody Brundage, a wrestler with heavy hands and a relentless, if not risky, approach. Malkoun's consistent wrestling ability allows him to exert control and achieve multiple takedowns in his fights. While the asking price of $23 appears high, the investment could pay off due to Malkoun's dominance and Brundage's questionable cardio. Brundage, despite having the ability to control or KO Jacob, appears to be in a precarious position, having lost three consecutive fights but displaying moments of dominance in each.

Brundage's aggressive yet reckless style, as seen in his loss to Dumas, may not secure him a victory, but it does make the fight interesting. He does have a strong wrestling background, averaging nearly three takedowns per fight. However, if Malkoun can avoid Brundage's early onslaught and heavy hands, his relentless approach and meticulous takedowns could see him win with a high score to tout.
