FIGHT #1 TO TARGET (-1600 FDNGTD)

BO NICKAL ($24) vs. CODY BRUNDAGE ($7)

Bo Nickal enters the spotlight with overwhelming odds in his favor at-1600. Given Nickal's experience as a multiple-time Division 1 national champion and world champion medalist, his plan is simple: minimize striking, utilize takedowns, and dominate with jiu-jitsu. His transition from wrestling to MMA has been flawless, with a perfect record of five professional fights and five stoppages, demonstrating his ability to terminate battles decisively.

Cody Brundage, known for his “leave it all in the cage” mentality, presents an uptick in talent opposing Bo Nickal thus far in his career. Brundage adds excitement to the octagon with his strength and respectable wrestling history, as evidenced by his aggressive style and nearly three takedowns per fight average. Despite his power and wrestling ability, Brundage's fight IQ raises questions, particularly his rash judgments in vital situations. Nonetheless, his propensity to engage in hard exchanges and mix in takedowns makes him a difficult opponent for many early in the fight, underscoring the importance of Nickal weathering the storm and pursuing ground control.

Despite the heavy odds, the bout between Nickal and Brundage is viewed as a good test for both combatants, particularly Nickal. Brundage's 75% takedown defense and track record against opponents with strong wrestling bases could prove to pose an obstacle to Nickal's takedown game. In reality, it is most likely that Bo Nickal dominates this fight, but the step up in overall talent is a good proving ground as he starts to work his way up the roster ladder in the UFC. Bo might be a bit too expensive but if there was ever a spot for a $24 fighter on FD, this is probably it.

FIGHT #2 TO TARGET (-600 FDNGTD)

ALEX PEREIRA ($19) vs. JAMAHAL HILL ($17)

Alex Pereira enters this highly anticipated main event with both momentum from his recent victory and concerns about his jab defense. While many believe his decision to stop Jiri Prochazka was premature, the general consensus is that the outcome was unavoidable. Pereira, known for his devastating power and impressive physique, has seamlessly transitioned into the light heavyweight division, demonstrating speed and strength without having to cut weight from middleweight. Despite his formidable striking abilities, Pereira's vulnerability to straight punches has been noted, making his matchup with Jamahal Hill, a skilled striker in his own right, all the more intriguing.

Jamahal Hill, who is returning from a serious injury and surgery, faces doubts about the timing of his comeback. His ability as a striker is undeniable, with a commendable striking differential and an approach that combines power, volume, and accuracy. Hill's takedown defense may not be a significant factor in this matchup, given Pereira's striking-oriented style, but it adds an intriguing layer to the tactical battle. This fight is more than just a physical contest, it is a test of resilience and strategic planning, with Hill looking to reclaim his position at the top of the division.

The main event promises to be a clash of striking powerhouses, with both Pereira and Hill capable of finishing the fight with a single punch. Pereira's counter-striking and powerful left hook pose a formidable challenge to Hill, who prefers to push forward aggressively. While the narrative heavily favors Pereira, particularly given Hill's recent injury concerns, the unpredictability of this matchup emphasizes its importance. As the UFC looked for a main event that could live up to the expectations of a historic event, this fight, despite appearing to be an afterthought, promises to deliver on intensity and intrigue, making it a must-see for fans and an important consideration for DFS players.

FIGHT #3 TO TARGET (-400 FDNGTD)

JALIN TURNER ($18) vs. RENATO MOICANO ($10)

Renato Moicano's grappling prowess and versatility on the ground emerge as potentially pivotal factors ahead of his fight against Jalin Turner at UFC 300, especially given Turner's proclivity to be outmaneuvered in long bouts. With Turner showing weaknesses in control time against notable opponents such as Dan Hooker and Mateusz Gamrot, Moicano's superior grappling could tip the balance. Despite initial reservations about Moicano, his price of $10 on FanDuel appears undervalued, making him an appealing choice for lineups. Turner's chance of an early win remains a possibility, albeit with a lower probability, implying Moicano's diverse skill set could be the difference.

The anticipation for this fight grows as Turner's impressive reach and striking abilities contrast with Moicano's formidable grappling and technical striking. Turner, known for keeping his distance while aggressively engaging, has a significant height advantage and surprising proficiency in submissions, highlighting his well-rounded skill set. Moicano, on the other hand, is not only a high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, but he also has consistent striking volume and pace. Concerns about his durability remain, given his history of chin vulnerability. This matchup allows Moicano to use his grappling and technical striking to pose a significant challenge to Turner's defense.

This fight adds an exciting layer to UFC 300, with Moicano poised to continue his rise in popularity and cement his place as a fan favorite. His victory over Drew Dober demonstrated his ability to seize opportunities and adapt in the heat of combat. Turner's striking and takedown defense are formidable, but Moicano's nuanced approach and grappling edge may disrupt his rhythm. Turner's key will be to use his reach and striking prowess to secure an early finish, which is a necessary strategy given his track record of not winning by decision. In this high-stakes matchup, both fighters present distinct challenges to each other, making it a must-see for fans and an important factor to consider in your DFS lineups.
