Listen, Zaleski is definitely old and any time you get an old vs a young, you need to factor that in. Before i dug into the tape I saw the age difference, i saw the size difference and I thought we might have a live dog here. Then i saw him striking while standing completely vertical and his head leaning backwards. Zach is not ready for the UFC and Zaleski likely runs right through him.
Elizeu Zaleski
Elizeu Zaleski is a solid striker with real power and athleticism who can also be dangerous on the ground. He has a very busy and active striking style where he is contantly moving. He has real power, real athleticism and real cardio which make him a very dangerous man. He is coming off the loss to Randy Brown where he had all the takedowns but couldn't hang in the striking.
Zach Scroggin
Zach Scroggin is a very tall guy for the division at 6'3. He isn't scrawny either and I'm not sure how the short notice weight cut will go here.Despite his height advantages he doesn't use his reach very well because he stands very vertical with his head leaning back. He does however use his leg kicks pretty well to soften his oppoents up and even has a sub 1 minute finish using those leg kicks. While his striking needs some real work, his grappling is ok. He does use his length on the ground to wrap up submissions and control from top. Ultimately he is a regional guy that is looking to capolize on a short notice opportunity.
