Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Gerald Meerschaert
SHAHBAZYAN VS MEERSCHAERT

We talked about it earlier, the Apex is ripe for wild upsets and has a tendency to make some of these odds look crazy. Edmen is a 3-1 favorite and I know how chinny Gerald can be, but his wrestling also just looked the best it ever has. If Gerard can have the same clean takedowns in this fight as he did in his last, he can absolutely win. The difference though is his last opponent was Bryan Barberena. Edmen is dangerous, but Gerald has been durable in his last couple of fights and cleaned up the takedowns. I'm shooting my shot and picking massive underdog Gerald Meerschart.

Edmen Shahbazyan

Edmen Shahbazyan is a very good striker who is well rounded and has impressive kicks. He does get taken down a good amount though because he is long and he plants his feet before throwing. His takedown defense is ok at 63% and if he is taken down he ends up in trouble because he doesn't scramble well enough to get back up or threaten enough to get a submission. He has solid offensive wrestling though with more than 2 takedowns per fight. He is coming off the TKO loss to Anthony Hernandez where he was taken down 6 times before being stopped in the 3rd.

Gerald Meerschaert

Gerald Meershaert is a very good grappler who is always live for a submission. He is not great on his feet and people question his chin but he is tough and he won't quit on himself. He is an incredibly talented grappler but like so many others, he doesn't have very good offensive wrestling and even though he averages a little over 2 takedowns per fight, he has a very low 37% takedown accuracy. He is coming off the He is coming off the submission win over Bryan Barerena that punched his ticket
