This is MMA, not boxing. People lose all the time because there are quite literally so many different ways to lose. I'm a not big Fraud Check narrative kind of guy because first of all, you people use that term wrong, and secondly does getting caught in a submission by a UFC vet for fought for a title make you a fraud? No, of course not. It means you got caught by a crafty vet. So on the surface I don't have an issue with Vitor's loss to Anthony Smith, but I do take some issue with how little he seemed to care. He literally smiled and laughed it off like “whatever”. I can only hope that his in cage reaction was temporary and that loss fueled some growth in the gym. I am picking Petrino here because he hits so damn hard and Dustin's chin is gone. But Dustin could turn this into a dog fight and I better not see Vitor smiling without a care in the world.
Dustin Jacoby
Dustin Jacoby is a high level kickboxer who during his kickboxing stint was ranked 2nd in the world. He does a great job keeping things technical and working your legs. He is technically sound with good power and volume. He has 60% takedown defense but that number is understated. He has solid takedown defense and does a great job making you pay on the way in. He is coming off the KO loss to Dominic Reyes that unfortunately confirmed his chin is gone.
Vitor Petrino
Vitor Petrino is a monster with a wild left hook. He is a dangerous striker who is evolving into a grappler. He has 16 takedowns in his last 5 fights. His takedown defense is just ok, but he does a nice job working his way up and avoiding danger. He is very green still but is evolving as a fighter and learning more every time he steps in the cage. He is going to be a problem for a lot of people, but he does need to button some things up. He is coming off the submission loss to Anthony Smith where is took a few leg kicks then shit a takedown and was guillotined.
