This is a pretty straight forward breakdown. either Thomas Petersen gets the takedowns and wins, or he hangs out on the feet too long and gets KO'd. Given the fact that Don'Tale has been struggling with grapplers as of late, I am going to lean towards Petersen with all Es. He took down Gaziev easily and if he had a touch more control he would've kept it there. I like Petersen here, but way too risky to bet on at -225.
Don'Tale Mayes
DonTale Mayes is a good boxer with heavy hands. He has solid footwork and sets up his combinations well. He marches forward and throws everything with 100% effort, everything from leg kicks to overhands. He is not a wrestler, but he does have 7 takedowns in the UFC. He is coming off the instant submission loss to Valter Walker where he was taken down and heel hooked almost as fast as your mother puts out on a first date.
Thomas Petersen
Thomas Peterson is a solid wrestler who will work everything from bear hugs to doubles. His striking isn't great, but he will close the gap with straight punches while marching forward and then when he gets you against the cage, he will be busy in the clinch. If Petersen can't take his opponent down, he is trouble. But if he can, he has great control and ground and pound. He is coming off the KO loss to the incredibly handsome, Shamiz Gaziev where he had an easy takedown but lost it it on the ground.
