Daniel Santos is stepping up on about 2 weeks notice here when Lee's original opponent dropped and unfortunately for Lee, this is a very different fight. Santos is a typical Chute Box guy, so he will come forward with insane aggression, try to take your head off, but also be taken down. The -170 odds for santos surprise me a little bit here and i think people are just assuming he will KO like Hyder did. I actually think Lee can win here. We have seen him with a wrestle heavy gameplan before and if he does that here, he can have success. I love Chute Box, but there is a pretty clear path to beat them – weather the storm, get takedowns and keep your elbows in. Lee is the pick and lets see if these odds widen.
Daniel Santos
Daniel Santos is an old school Chute Box style striker. He plots forward with very tight hands and when he hits the pocket, he explodes with power and speed. He has solid leg kicks and similar to Davey when he gets dropped he recovers like nothing happened. He has very good BJJ from bottom, but he can be taken down and even though his BJJ is good, its also old school in that he will play in the guard off his back at times instead of using it to creates scrambles and working back up. He is coming off the cancelled fight with Davey Grant a few months ago.
Jeong Yeong Lee
Jeong Yeong Lee is a very well rounded fighter. He is explosive, powerful, confident and technical. He has a loose striking style that he manages with range as well as solid takedowns and grappling. He is very long for the division and he uses his length well by walking people down. He can be hittable because of his low hands, but he has a solid chin and grappling as a backup.
