Daniel Rodriguez vs. Alex Morono
RODRIGUEZ VS MORONO

The UFC is contractually obligated to offer every fighter on the roster 3 fights a year, so when we get to the back end of the year, we start to get the clean up fights. the fights that are slapped together to meet the contractual obligations that they have ot meet for 700+ fighters. This is one of those, but its not terrible. We have 2 guys that are on struggle street, which means one will win and be back on track. Alex Morono is the better overall fighter. He is also someone you can never ever trust to do what you need him to do. The wildly low confidence pick will be Daniel, but a +3.5 bet will be placed on Morono. He can certainly win 1 round right?

Daniel Rodriguez

Daniel Rodriguez is a very good boxer who picks his shots well. He has good takedown defense but not much to offer in the grappling department. His boxing is crisp and when he isn't worried about the takedowns his hands are deadly and he hits a rhythm, when he is worried about the takedowns he can fade later in the fight. He is coming off the decision loss to Kelvin Gastelum where he actually looked good, just couldn't do anything when punching a cement wall.

Alex Morono

Before I dive into Alex's skills, which he does have, let me cavaet it all by saying he is wildly unreliable and inconsistent. His skills are there, is a well rounded guy with effective striking and incredibly under appreciated grappling. He can get a bit wild and uses his awkward striking well to keep his opponents out of a rhythm. He is a high level blackbelt but doesn't use his wrestling as often as you'd like. He a does however do a nice job working in takedowns when he needs to or is in trouble. He is coming off the upset loss to Niko Price where he couldn't defend the takedowns.
