On the surface this should be an easy Sean Woodson pick, and for the most part it is. But Dan's general dog fight aura does give me a bit of concern. Sean should be the far better striker and should be able to use the range to piece Dan up. He also has the takedown defense he needs to stay on feet. But as we know, Dan will not stop coming forward and will be prepared for a full blown war. Sean is the pick and depending what happens to his line, we may have a +3.5 on the Ige side.
Dan Ige
Dan Ige is a fantastic kickboxer with speed and power. He also has solid BJJ and underrated wrestling. His takedown defense may look low at 57% but he has only fought killers the last couple of years and most of them are looking to take him down He is a very durable guy and a tough night for anyone. Getting him out of there is almost impossible so you need to be ready for a full 15 minute war. He is coming off the decision loss to Lerone Murphy where he had Lerone rocked early but wasn't able to capitalize.
Sean Woodson
Sean Woodson is a very long and lean boxer who had an actual boxing career before moving to MMA. He manages distance really well and is one of the few fighters who actually know how to use their reach because of that professional boxing background. Given how good his hands are, most will try to take him down, but that's not an easy task because Woodson has an 84% takedown defense. He is coming off the knockout win over Fernando Padilla
