Cody is essentially a 2-1 favorite right now. In his UFC debut against a guy we have seen have success at the UFC level. I'm a big fan of Argueta and his ability to set a wrestling pace but I am torn in this matchup. My gut wanted to go with Argueta here, especially after he looked good against Jean before getting caught. But i worry that Cody that is the real deal and that his scramble skills could exhaust and frustrate Argueta. I'm going to have to lean the prospect becaue dan has had a bit of bad luck recently, but I will be full rooting for Argueta and will not be betting on a UFC debut.
Dan Argueta
Dan Argueta is a short, stocky wrestler who will come across the cage, wrap up your body and muscle you to the ground. He has very nice pressure and leaves almost no space for his opponents to work up. He has one single gameplan and that is to get you to the ground and pound away. He is coming off the loss to Jean Matsumoto where he came in with a big overhand and instantly got the takedown. In fact he had 9 takedowns in that fight and looked good until he let his head hang and got caught in a guillotine.
Cody Haddon
Cody Haddon is a solid prospect who's lone loss comes to former title challenger Steve Erceg. Cody is a busy fighter who sets an insane pace and doesn't slow down. He has clean boxing where he throws in combinations and does a great job working the body. He's also a slick grappler who is busy on top and bottom. If he is on top he's raining down strikes, if he is on bottom, he is creating scrambles and working his way so his opponents cant settle.
