Cory Sandhagen vs. Umar Nurmagomedov
SANDHAGEN VS NURMAGOMEDOV

If Cory had Chito's power he may be a decent underdog. We just watched Umar get dropped. But we also just watched Umar work through adversity. He stayed composed, put himself together and went back to ole reliable. Cory has decent takedown defense at 64% but he's essentially been taken down by anyone who has tried. Cory without question will be the more well rounded fighter here, but sometimes that doesn't matter. I don;'t see him defending the takedowns and I think Umar cruises here in a fight that could look like Jailton Almeida vs Derrick Lewis.

Cory Sandhagen

Cory Sandhagen is a very active striker landing almost 6 significant strikes per minute with deceiving power and solid technique. He's fluid, he's fast and is very good with combinations and variety. He will throw punches, kicks, elbows, knees and mix up where they land. He's athletic, tough and ties it all out with solid BJJ. Cory is dangerous, tough, and a hard night out for anyone. He is coming off the Nurmagomedov-esque win over Rob Font where he had 7 takedowns.

Umar Nurmagomedov

Umar Nurmagomedov is exactly the type of fighter you expect him to be with that last name. He has 5 fights in the UFC with 14 takedowns, 26 minutes of control time, 2 submissions and a standing knockout. Even with that knockout I would say his striking is good but his wrestling is fantastic. He uses kicks really well to stay out of range and then he comes charging in with his wrestling and looks for takedowns. If he misses the first, he will transition to the second and has amazing chain wrestling. He is coming off the decision win over an unknown Bekzat Almakhan where he was dropped bad early but put it together and wrestled his way to a win.
