This is definitely set up to get Weidman some sort of win, but it will not come easy. Post USADA Weidman definitely looks better than first fight back Weidman and he could potentially win here. He is definitely the better fighter in the matchup and Anders didn't exactly look great in his last fight against a guy who isn't UFC caliber and was cut. i am going to go out on a limb and pick my northeast brother Weidman here. Both have chins that are gone, both are tough and i'm expecting a sloppy but fun fight here.
Chris Weidman
Chris Weidman is the former middleweight champion of the world and the first champion that the Serra / Longo gym produced (outside of Matt Serra of course). He is a great wrestler, solid striker, and has a great carrer. He is an all-time great personality, rguably an all time great middleweight, but he is 40 and slowing down. He is coming off the infamous double eye poke win over Bruno Silva.
Eryk Anders
Eryk Anders not only spells his name like a psycho, he is also an athlete. He can wrestle, he can strike, he has competed at multiple sports at a high level and it shows. He mixes his punches and kicks together well and has ok speed. He does keep his hands too low which has gotten him in trouble in the past. His path to victory in most fights is his wrestling where he looks to take people down, keep them there and beat them up. He is rarely the most technical fighter in the cage but very often the most athletic and phsycial. He is coming off the win over Jamie Pickett where he looked strong but was dropped.
