As many of you know I watch the fight with my laptop and take notes. My notes are what i am thinking and feeling live in the moment so when I come back to break down that fighter again, i make adjustments on my assessment. My notes for Carlos' last fight literally say “do nothing pussy who needs to land the one punch”. With that being said, i can't pick him. i can't pick a do nothing p word. I actually went back and rewatched that fight and while my notes were crude, they were accurate. Carlos did not look good. He clearly has incredible power, but I do feel like someone with a solid chin who is willing to engage can have success. I am going to pick Charlie here but obviously this dude can be face down on the mat a few minutes in because of the insane Prates power. The lack of volume and backing up is not something I can count on so for now Prates is a fade.
Charles Radtke
Charlie Radtke is an athletic grappler who lowers his level, takes his shots and then immediately works for positions. He is very controlled on the ground and very dangerous. He only has one takedown in the UFC, but thats because his hands have looked so good so far. When he does get a fight to the ground, he hunts for submissions and transitions well between them, but he does pull guilotines and chase other submissions that take him out of position. He tends to slow as fights go on and can be very hittable, but he throws with power and is very tough. He is coming off the first round KO over Gilbert Urbina.
Carlos Prates
Carlos Prates is a dangerous striker with big power and range control. He is pretty light on his feet and manages to throw kicks to any body part whenver he wants. He will launch head kicks on the drop of a dime, he will throw spinning kicks and he will defend most takedowns that come his way. He has very low hands and a stance that looks similar to Alex Pereira. While he is coming off a knockout win over Trevin Giles, I want to remind you that he was losing that fight and doing literally nothing up until that punch.
