Jake Haldey is stepping up on short notice and moving up to Bantamweight. I'm sure he's excited to find himself on an England PPV but this is a tricky fight. I think Jake is the better fighter in general, but he will be giving up 10lbs and as we saw in his UFC debut, Caolan has no problem being boring and using his size to keep you against the cage. If Jake can keep striking range and move forward, he will be the more technical striker and likely pieces up Caolan, but if he backs up at all, Caolan will take over. I'm going to pick Caolan because of the size difference but we don't have odds yet, so not sure of bets but if this is wide, Jake Hadley +3.5 is the way to go.
Caolan Loughran
Caolan Loughran is a powerful guy who has a wide base that he uses to send kicks and generate power. He has power in his hands and tends to throw everything as hard as he can. He has solid takedown defense and nice takedowns himself. He is a busy striker with good footwork that moves forward but he can be a bit hittable at times because of the wide stance. If he's getting touched up, he will go to the wrestling and while he will have success with takedowns, he doesn't have much BJJ. He is coming off the decision win over Angel Pacheco.
Jake Hadley
Jake Hadley is a striker who rounds himself out with slick BJJ. He has solid boxing and timing on his feet, then decent takedowns and aggressive BJJ on the ground. Hadley is a very good fighter with titles in multiple regional promotions. He can strike, he can grapple and he can stick to a high pace for 15 full minutes but he is coming off a decision loss to Charles Johnson where he looked god moving forward, but Charles was able to squeak out a close one.
