Cameron Saaiman was a big prospect exactly 18 months ago. Him and Dricus were both making a name for themselves at the same time. Both getting quality wins and both showing the world what South African MMA can be. Then Cameron got smoked twice and Dricus became champion of the world. Even though Cameron may not be the hyped prospect he once was, he is still good. He's a talented striker who can wrestle when he needs to. Cameron should have the volume advantage with Malcolm having the power advantage and if this fight was in Vegas, i would be all in on power, but in Kansas City we may get some old school scoring where forward pressure is enough. Wellmaker is the pick, but I don't like this enough to bet.
Cameron Saaiman
Cameron Saaiman is a fun technical striker who can grapple if needed. He does a great job stepping into combinations and finishing them with leg kicks. Just when you think you have figured out his striking cadence, he will work in spinning attacks and even drop down to shoot a takedown. He doesn't have incredible power but he is fast, accurate and relentless enough to get it done. He is riding back to back losses with the most recent being a TKO to Payton Talbott over a year ago
Malcolm Wellmaker
Malcolm Wellmaker is a powerful striker with great accuracy and timing. He does a really nice job managing range with a solid jab and then firing away. He's not overly aggressive but does do a nice job fully committing when he throws and counter when people come at him. He can grapple as well with solid takedowns and even better takedown defense. Coming off a massive counter hook KO on the Contender Series to earn himself a UFC shot.
