We will find out how good Taira is in this fight. This is his first true test. I'm a bit of a Taira hater and have felt that he's a bit overrated. Yes, he's undefeated. but who did he beat? A few guys no longer in the UFC, CJ Vergara and then Alex Perez with an injury in a fight that he was losing on all 3 judges scorecards. Royval as zero quit or stop in him at all. Even in his title los to Pantoja he landed more strikes despite being taken down 8 times. i think Royval's pressure and high level experience will be to much for Taira. My only concern is that Royval is at a new gym and I have zero clue what the training and preparedness is, but I still need to go Royval here. I want to bet the +5.5 because i know Royval can win some rounds, but the moneyline odds were too good to pass up at +170 so I threw a half of a unit on that as well.
Brandon Royval
Brandon Royval is also one of the most exciting guys to watch in the UFC. He is always looking for a finish and is dangerous both on the feet and the ground. His striking is fast, powerful and diverse. His grappling is aggressive with tricky submissions and a willingness to chase them. He throws crazy, brings a ton of pressure and keeps coming forward. Brandon Royval is a problem for a lot of people. He is coming off the win over Brandon Moreno where he never stopped moving and looked tremendous.
Tatsuro Taira
Tatsuro Taira remains undefeated and one of the best flyweight prospects on the planet. He is only 24 years old and walking into his biggest test. Style wise he is a very patient striker with ok power in his hands and strong grappling. He does not have the best takedowns in the division but he will stick with them and drag you to the ground. He is coming off the injury win over Alex Perez where Alex was having success but Taira jumping on is blew his knee out.
