Finally, a tough fight to pick. I disagree with how wide this line is. Moicano is more than a 2-1 favorite and while on the surface I understand that Moicano is surging and Beniel is on a skid, but if you go skill for skill in the matchup, it is not nearly as clear. Beniel has some of the literal best takedown defense I have seen, go watch his ridiculous scrambles against Gamrot. He also has incredible hands and some power. So while Moicano is winning and has solid grappling, taking down Beniel is going to be a much different game than Jalin turner who almost killed him. I was going to go through all of this and still pick Moicano, but I just convinced myself to go the other way. I am going with the dog in Beniel and lets hope he's in peak form and not 1 foot out the door.
Beneil Dariush
Beneil Dariush is very good everywhere with great power and control. He averages almost 2 takedowns per fight and is a no-gi BJJ world champion. We have seen him beat people with grappling, like Tony Ferguson and Diego Ferreira as well as striking like Scott Holtzman and James Vick. He is a perenniel contender who snapped an 8 fight win streak with 2 bad losses in a row, most recently to Arman Tsarukyan
Renato Moicano
Renato Moicano is a high level BJJ blackbelt who is also is a technical striker. He doesn't have stoppage power but does have nice volume and a good pace. His chin is a bit shaky, but he is very tough and very skilled. He averages almost 2 takedowns per fight with a 45% accuracy but dosnt have the cleanest takedowns and usually ends up clinching or dragging to the ground. He is coming off that come from behind win at UFC 300 where Jalin Turner had him 99% knocked out and thought he had a walk-off.
