When this fight was first announced there was a group of people talking about Ariane is good, Ariane can win here, this is a bad matchup for Jasmine… I disagree with all of those statements. Ariane has certainly improved, but i don't care how much she trains, the wrestling and pressure of Jasmine is very different and will be more than enough here. She is -184 and while I wish it was more affordable, I am confident she gets the takedowns and the win and will likely have some action on her as the week goes on.
Ariane Da Silva (Lipski)
Ariane Lipski, now Ariani Da Silva, is a decent striker who can grapple as well. The problem with her grappling is that she needs to be the one in control, if she's on top she's solid but If she's on her back, she struggles and can get finished. Her recent evolution has been incredible. In her last 4 fights she has defended a combined 22 takedowns and went 4 for 4 on her own takedown attempts. That newly found takedown defense did just fail her in her last though when Karine Silva took her down 4 times.
Jasmine Jasudavicius
Jasmine Jasudavicius is a wrestler who who likes to come forward and push the pace with her striking before she works in her takedowns. She has a solid clinch where she controls your body, throws heavy knees and then works some takedowns from there. She is a very accomplished wrestler with fantastic hips so that even if she has a bad entry which creates a scramble she will end up on top. She is coming off the dominant win over Fatima Kline where she was a dog for some reason.
