This fight will either look like Amanda vs Mackenzie, where she defended trash takedowns and won the striking, or Amanda vs Virna where she had no answer for the takedowns. My brain is telling me that Amanda has too much experience at a high level and Iasmin's takedowns just aren't good enough to get it done. But my gut, my rock solid, flat as a board, gut is saying that ever since the beating she took from Weili, Amanda hasn't been the same and won't be able to match Iasmin's pace. I ate a salad for lunch yesterday, so the gut isn't letting me down. Going with Iasmin here.
Amanda Lemos
Amanda Lemos is a Muay Thai striker with fast hands and a ton of power. For the most part she does a good job keeping her fights at Muay Thai range to avoid takedowns. She has plenty of power and solid BJJ but can lose the scrambles and transitions. She has been at the top of the division for a while now and thats reflected in her slate of competition. She is coming off the submission loss to Virna Jandiroba where she was only able to land 2 strikes.
Iasmin Lucindo
Iasmin Lucindo is a grappler who uses her speed and power to clinch and drag her opponents to the ground. Once on the ground she has solid top pressure where she uses strikes to loosen you up before transitioning to submissions. Her striking is just ok, she essentially waits for you to throw, then counters and rushes in looking for the takedowns. Her gameplan is always to get on top and control the fight there. She is coming off the close decision win Marina Rodriguez where she gritted it out with a handful of well timed takedowns.
