The world hated when this fight was announced and railroaded Khalil for not being deserving. I disagree with that point and made an entire 8 minute video breaking down why he deserves this title shot and how he can actually win. This should be Alex all day. He has the touch of death and is the more accomplished striker in a fight that should be only striking. The concern though is that Alex gets hit, a lot. Khalil is lightening fast and throws straight punches. If Khalil isn't worried about the power and comes forward with aggression, he may very well catch Alex and get the KO, we saw what Izzy was able to do when he sat on a punch. But at the end of the day 205lb Alex seems to have his full chin and certainly has the power. Alex is the pick and as I've said before, I hope he runs through this division then moves up to heavyweight, runs through that and retires.
Alex Pereira
Alex Pereira has only been in the UFC for 3 years and is already a 2 division champion and the biggest star the sport has. He is a world class kickboxer that dominated that world before moving into this one. He has ungodly power and a willingness to fight anyone, anywhere. He is coming off the devastating head kick KO win over Jiri Prochazka
Khalil Rountree Jr.
Khalil Rountree is a Muay Thai striker who has a ton of power and is very fast. Khalil can knock anyone out on any day as long as he is the one dictating the pace and pressure. He fights very well going forward but can struggle when backing up. He doesn't have much offensive wrestling with exactly 0 takedowns in 16 fights but his takedown defense is ok at 58%. He is riding a 5 fight win streak and coming off a suspension over a self reported tainted substance.
