Luckily Da'Mon has decent takedown defense because what I imagine here is that Da'Mon absolute smokes Cody on the feet, but Cody is durable so he will stick around and look to wrestle. I think the striking gap is pretty wide so I am confident in Da'Mon here, but in a year where massive favorites are going down like a cheerleader under the bleachers, Da'Mon might be your fade.
Da'Mon Blackshear
Da'Mon Blackshear is an athletic striker with impressive speed and power. He can grapple as well with takedowns in all but one of his UFC fights. He has solid volume in his strikes with technical boxing and clean takedowns. He does have 4 losses in the UFC but all of them are quality. He is coming off the bounceback win over Cody Stammann where he wobbled him and then submitted him.
Cody Gibson
Cody Gibson is a solid striker who uses his length well. He is very long and can be very busy in exchanges. He uses his length to setup strikes and defend takedowns. He has 13 takedowns in the UFC but is primarily a striker and if you do take him down you can have some success holding him there. He is coming off the decision win over Chad Anheliger where he was getting touched up on the feet but the wrestling and grappling looked great.
