Sam Patterson relies entirely too much on his length and while it is always a good thing to understand your body and use it to the best if its abilities, you can't build your entire career around being long, especially in this case where he is fighting someone with longer reach. I think Danny controls the striking and can potentially find a finish. My only concern on the Danny side would be a situation where they end up on the ground. I haven't seen enough to be confident in his ground game, but lets hope we don't find out. Danny is the pick and maybe we find a prop here.
Danny Barlow
Danny Barlow is a rangy striker with very real power. He likes to work at range but will enter the pocket with lead uppercuts and hooks. Even though he has a bunch of early finishes, he does take his time and wait for the shot. He is composed and doesn't headhunt. He has powerful kicks as well and is all around a dangerous guy. He doesn't like getting pressure and when he does he tends to shell up and shoot takedowns, on the ground he has solid BJJ and positioning. He is coming off Nikolay Verittenikov where he missed weight but did showcase his speed and accuracy.
Sam Patterson
Sam Patterson is a very tall and long striker. He is an insane 6'4 and while he does not use his length well striking, he does use it really well on the ground. On his feet he has accurate boxing and because he is so long can have some power as well. His takedown defense needs work but as I mentioned, he uses his length very well on the ground and is constantly wrapping something up and looking for a submission. He is coming off the submission win over Keifer Crosbie.
