Breaking down prospects like Jacobe is always a little tricky because he obviously looks like a stud and will be the pick here. But all we have to go off is his destruction of regional guys. We don't quite know what he will look like against a higher level of competition or if there is any adversity. With that being said, outside of a sneaky submission, Preston won't have much to offer. I see Jacobe getting takedowns, avoiding submissions and likely finishing here. Jacobe is the pick, but its always nervewracking being this confident in debuts.
Jacobe Smith
Jacobe Smith is one of the biggest prospects coming off the Contender Series and is getting his official UFC shot on short notice. He is a nasty wrestler who can strike. His striking is not great but it is fast as hell with very real power. When he gets the takedowns he has great pressure, great hips and is always working. He sets a nice pace and is always looking for a finish either on the feet or the ground. He is a well rounded guy but very early in his career and has had any adversity yet.
Preston Parsons
Preston Parsons is a very slick grappler who has 9 submissions in 11 wins. He is a BJJ black belt who moves forward aggressively throwing big shots to set up takedowns. While he is a dangerous grappler he can be a bit clueless when he can't get the grappling going. Historically he has been takedown or bust, but in his last fight against Oban Elliott he managed to do both.
