Jose Johnson vs. Felipe Bunes
JOHNSON VS BUNES

Jose Johnson is long and scary but cannot defend a takedown. Time and time again he gets taken down, threatens some submissions, then loses them and loses the fight. Felipe is too good of a grappler to get caught in a triangle choke in 2025. I see him coming forward, bombing overhands, getting takedowns and defending any nonsense on the ground. Felipe is the pick and I threw a half of a unit on him at +175.

Jose Johnson

Jose Johnson is a long Muay Thai striker. He is quite literally the longest flyweight ever in the UFC and he uses that length well. He likes to come forward and control the center with his speed and range. He has versatile striking where he uses teep kicks, clinch work and traditional boxing to touch his opponents. He doesn't have the best takedown defense but he does have some trip work for his offense and solid pure BJJ. He is coming off wrestling loss to Asu Almabaev where had a few moments of grappling success but overall couldn't defend the takedowns.

Felipe Bunes

Felipe Bunes is a BJJ Blackbelt with very slick submissions. He is always looking for something on the ground and is very fast in transitions and scrambles. Felipe isn't a BJJ nerd though. He will engage on the feet and shoot proper takedowns. He loves throwing a straight or overhand right and transitioning into a takedown. If you take him down, prepare to defend submission attempt after submission attempt. He is coming off a loss to Josh Van in his UFC debut where he had a pair of takedowns before getting TKOd in the 2nd.
