Petr Yan vs. Deiveson Figueiredo
YAN VS FIGUEIREDO

Figgy did the impossible and knocked down Chito Vera. And while you can argue there was off balance in the mix there, the reality is that Figgy did well on the feet and on the ground against a division staple. This is a tough fight to pick because Petr has great takedown defense and great striking, but Figgy's takedowns have looked better than ever and 135 is suiting him really well. Ultimately I'm picking Yan here because he will be the better striker and with 5 rounds to work, losing a few wrestling exchanges shouldn't matter.

Petr Yan

Petr Yan is the former Bantamweight Champion of the World. He is a a phenomenal striker with fantastic takedown defense and suprisingly solid takedown offense as well. He's a nightmare for a lot of people because of how dangerous his striking is and how underrated his wrestling can be. He plots forward with a muay thai style guard and then blasts away with power and accuracy. He averages almost 2 takedowns per fight with a solid 85% takedown defense. He is coming off the win over Song Yadone where he had a couple takedowns and clean striking.

Deiveson Figueiredo

Deiveison Figuerdo is the former flyweight champion of the world who is undefeated at his new weight class. Since moving up to Bantamweight we have seen cardio improvements and a might higher focus on wrestling. He has 7 takedowns in his last 3 fights which is more than his previous 7 fights combined. He is a well rounded guy who is dangerous everywhere. He has power in his hands, well timed takedowns, a BJJ blackbelt and some dog in him. He is coming off the decision win over Chito Vera where he dropped him and took him down twice.
