This is a funny matchup, both of these guys have been struggling, both of them finally get a win and then UFC is like “nope, one of you will lose now”. Cody Gibson being the slight favorite here makes sense. He should be. But Chad is a bit of a dog and we just saw in his last fight that even 4 takedowns cant steal the fight. I'm going to pick Cody to win here because i think he can control the striking range and snek in a few takedowns, but I may be +3.5 on Chad. He is a dog and I think he can take a round for sure.

Chad Anheliger

Chad Anheliger is a power striker with solid BJJ if it gets to the ground. He sets a nice pace and hits incredibly hard. His takedown defense is just ok but it has failed him in the past. If he is taken taken down he has sweeps and a solid get up game. If he gets on top, he will absolutely tee off. He has 5 fights in the UFC but has given up 14 takedowns including 4 in his last fight against Charlampos Grigoriou that he dominated with striking.

Cody Gibson

Cody Gibson is a solid striker who uses his length well. He is very long and can be very busy in exchanges. He uses his length to setup strikes and defend takedowns. He primarily a striker though and if you do take him down you can have some success holding him there. He is coming off the submission over Brian Kelleger which was his first UFC win in 10 years .
