When Javid, Farid's bother, lost to Aimen Zahabi this past spring, i wrote off the Basharat brothers. They are too tentative and don't ever “go for it”. With that being said, Farid, this brother, wrestles a good amount and I think that will be the difference here. Victor is a good striker, but very patient. That allows people to close the distance, in this case, it will allow Farid to close the distance and get takedowns. I think Farid wins here and it is likely a decision.
Farid Basharat
Farid Basharat is a well rounded wrestler with solid striking. He has a very loose stance where he bounces on his toes and throws a lot of kicks. He is very mobile and constantly working side to side. He has the wide Tae Kwon Do stance that helps him move well and stay defensively sound. He is a beast wrestler that will time his takedowns perfectly. He is coming off the decision win over Taylor Lapilus where he had 5 takedowns and was very wrestle heavy. He was supposed to fight this summer at UFC Saudi Arabia but pulled out.
Victor Hugo
Victor Hugo is a big guy that bounces between weight classes. He has fought everywhere from Bantamweight all the way up to Welterweight. He is a wild striker who will come forward and bomb away with power. Just like his wild and aggressive striking, he is a wild and aggressive grappler that will get takedowns and chase submissions even if that means losing position. He is coming off a win in his UFC debut where he was patient, calm, had clean striking but did spend a good amount of time against the cage.
