I am not as high on Jean as others are. He is definitely very good and very well rounded, but if Dan Argueta has a touch more cardio, he is no longer undefeated. Brad Katona is the exact type of guy that can come in and play spoiler. He is busy on the feet and will attempt to sneak in some takedowns. I am going to pick Jean here because he lets his hands go and doesn't freeze up when takedowns are coming his way. Brad lost to Garret because of Garrets volume, I think more of the same can happen here. But this feels like an insanely close fight to me so no chance I bet on Jean. If anything, a +3.5 on Brad may make sense if he can sneak out a round. Jean finished Argueta, he has plenty of decisions and Brad is tough.
Brad Katona
Brad Katona is a two time Ultimate Fighter winner who has been quietly building a decent resume for himself. Style wise he is a mobile striker with footwork and volume. While he is primarily a striker, he is aware enough to transition to wrestling when needed. He has great low kicks, solid TD defense and plenty of cardio. He is coming off the bounce back win over Jesse Butler where he was all in on the wrestling.
Jean Matsumoto
Jean Matsumoto is a well rounded guy. In fact, he has a black belt in BJJ and is a high level Muay Thai striker. He can initiate offensive takedowns as well with power doubles. If he is taken down and ends up on bottom, he stays busy and makes you work. He is a creative striker with a variety of kicks and counters. He does get hit though but is plenty tough and has plenty of cardio to push through. He is coming of the submission win over Dan Argueta where he was taken down 9 times but found the guilotine.
